Pelvic Rehab that helps you get your life back.

Why should I choose you and not a physical therapist?

Pelvic Harmony provides specialized occupational therapy for pelvic pain, bladder and bowel concerns, painful sex, postpartum changes, perimenopause, and other pelvic health concerns in Arlington MA.

Your pelvic floor doesn't exist in isolation. Neither should your care.

As an occupational therapist specializing in pelvic health, I focus not only on what’s happening in your body, but how those symptoms are affecting your daily life, relationships, exercise, work, parenting, and other activities that matter to you.

We work with a wide variety of anatomy and body types. Our approach includes a thoughtful care plan adapted to you and your anatomy. Every body has a different story, and we embrace your identity without assumptions on gender, biological sex, or sexual expression. Our care is respectful and grounded in the understanding that no two bodies or brains are the same.

At Pelvic Harmony, we combine clinical expertise with a whole-person approach, ensuring your care is:

  • One-on-one

  • Personalized to your body and goals

  • Trauma-informed and judgment-free

  • Rooted in evidence-based pelvic health practice

Because we feel strongly that pelvic rehab should be accessible to everyone, we are in-network with some insurance companies.

    We are currently in-network with:

    Aetna

    Anthem BCBS

    Medicare

    Certified out-of-network Tricare

and coming soon: Tufts, MGH, Mass Health, & Harvard Pilgrim

Why choose us?

Because, let’s be honest: you have options.

Here are 10 reasons why you should consider Encompass.

  1. Dr. Y specializes in pelvic health. This means she does not divide her time treating other populations. You see a pelvic floor specialist at every visit.

  2. As an occupational therapist, Dr. Y has an extensive understanding of the person-enviornment-occupation triad, meaning she is an expert in understanding how your environment impacts your bowel, bladder, or sexual function.

  3. Patients have referred to Dr. Y as “a body engineer.” She has more than just orthopedic knowledge: she understands (and can break down for you) the physiology of your issue.

  4. Because Dr. Y is strictly a pelvic rehab specialist, no two patients get the same exact treatment. You plan of care is always customized to you.

  5. Not only does Dr. Y have advanced trauma training, but as an occupational therapist, she is trained in the nervous system, mental health, and the roles these systems play in daily self-care tasks, which includes ensuring a safe, neuroaffirming space for all clientele.

  6. Dr. Y has a terminal degree in occupational therapy. She has completed a rigorous post-professional program and adheres to the highest standards of her profession.

  7. Dr. Y continues to participate in the advancement of her profession, presenting at local and national conferences, is featured on podcasts, and is recognized throughout the world as a specialist in gender-affirming pelvic health.

  8. Dr. Y believes that occupational justice is at the core foundation of pelvic rehabilitation; everyone with a pelvis deserves to be seen by a specialist.

  9. Pelvic Harmony understands the medical complexities of our current system, and works directly in network with insurance companies to make sure you are using your maximum benefits.

  10. And finally, if nothing else, Dr. Y is a very passionate, compassionate healthcare provider of 13 years, with experience as a generalist occupational therapist before specializing in pelvic rehab in late 2020. She has experience in wound care, neurological care, and orthopedics, which sets her apart. She is the person you go to when your first few trials of pelvic rehab “didn’t work.”

Two women are in a room with one kneeling on the floor and the other standing. The kneeling woman is holding the stalking woman’s hand and resting her hand on her stomach. The woman standing has her hand on her hip and looks down at the woman kneeling. There is a wooden dresser with a mirror, a small mirror, a box, and some decorative items on top. A framed picture hangs on the wall, and there is an air vent in the ceiling. A blue couch and a blanket are partially visible in the room.

How do I get started?

The best way to get started is to contact us via the contact form.

How long will it take to fix my issue?

We schedule all patients for about 12 visits.

  • In the first 4 visits, we are going to relax your nervous system and educate you on your condition (there will be homework!)

  • During the second set of 4 visits, we are going to retrain your body - and yes - more homework!

  • And during the last set, we are going to ensure you are strong enough to maintain a functional, pain-free life, which is not going to feel like homework anymore because you will have established strong habits and routines to support your ongoing health.

Do you take insurance?

We are currently in network with Anthem and Aetna, and are “certified out of network” with Tricare. We are currently credentialing with Medicare, MGH, Harvard Pilgrim, and Tufts. Understanding your insurance benefits, including co-insurance, co-pays, and deductibles are your responsibility. Every patient is required to have a card on file before the first visit is scheduled. We do accept HSA/FSAs. For anyone outside of these insurers, we offer complimentary superbill submission. We are happy to chat more about this with you during your inquiry call.

Mya says...

"Compassionate and effective pelvic floor care during pregnancy I started seeing Dr. Yebra while I was pregnant. I was experiencing severe pain in my tailbone, hips, and pubic bone that was preventing me from doing normal activities or sitting comfortably. Susan treated me with care and compassion, taking extra precautions to make me feel comfortable and safe during our sessions. Over the course of my treatment, my pain improved significantly, and I was able to resume daily walks and sit with minimal discomfort. She even went above and beyond to teach my husband some assisted stretches we could do at home and during labor. I am incredibly grateful for her support and expertise during my pregnancy and would recommend her services to anyone looking for personalized and supportive pelvic floor therapy.”

Heather says...

“I can’t say enough good things about Susan! I was very nervous reaching out for help postpartum, but she made the whole experience very comfortable and listened to everything I had to say. She prepared me for getting ready to go back to work and get back into exercising which I’m so grateful for!”

Jeremy says...

“Although reluctant to seek therapy, Susan quickly put me at ease with her calm, steady demeanor; taking the time to run me through all the details and answer any of my questions. After several sessions, I'm happy to say that I've seen robust gains and am confident moving forward with the tools she taught me. She's a very thorough and thoughtful OT who follows up and really makes you feel at home. Highly recommend! If you've been hesitant, this is your sign to start your road to recovery!”
